The trailer accomplished one thing: It made me want to see the movie.

But it also did something else: Batman still looks uninteresting. The best drama seems to be focused around Joseph Gordon Levitt's character.

And sorry. I'm just not buying Catwoman. Hopefully it's just one of those things that doesn't work in the trailer but succeeds in the movie.

I dont really like how bane looks in the shots i have seen. Technically he should be HUGE with unnatural bulging muscles since he injects himself with some secret serum that gives him super strength. I know Im being picky but im a comic book nerd

I also dont think anne hathaway will make a good catwoman. I like her as an actress, just not as a catwoman.

It's Nolan, so I'm not too worried.

I'm wondering if movie Bane is more like the mutant leader in Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.

I was never a huge fan of Bane in the comics. He always struck me as reminiscent of a 1980s Mexican wrestler.

Knowing the tone of these, it would be a more realistic representation, so I'd say no on the mutant leader angle.

I didn't mean Bane is a mutant in the movie. But in the comics, the mutant leads a sort of street-level revolution in Gotham --- as opposed to the comic book version of Bane, who gets super strength when he pumps a fluid into his body. But I'm just guessing.

Actually, of all the inspirations for Bane in this, the one I am most reminded of is this guy:

Isnt he both?

Spoiler
Dont want to spoil it for anyone so i put the spoiler tag. In the comics, if i remember correctly...he is born in prison, he grows up in prison. He becomes a psychopath and is thrown into solitary for years. The inmates respect him when he is released because he survived so long. He befriends the bird man, breaks out with his followers. He attacks arkham asylum and releases the joker and all the crazies which is the street level revolution you are talking about.

I loved Bane when they first introduced him. But it was a massive story arc through several comic books and the story was fantastic. You can't really do it justice in one movie, IMO. After his initial apperance though, he was kind of pointless.

Someone said it's Nolan so they are not worried. I used to feel that way about Raimi until producer interference turned Spiderman 3 into a giant mess.

There's a theory floating around that
Spoiler
JGL will be the "next Batman". Batman can be looked at as being most important as a symbol so others could wear the cowl. Just so long as it's not Jean Paul Valley.
