Change of topic if you do not mind.

I have been trying to get a grasp of the Gun Laws in MT as well as Missoula. Guessing in the city, being so "liberal," they are tough.

But I have had not much luck other than reads regarding Montana a gun friendly state. Which I like.

I would not travel there armed of course. But once established residence, I would like to return to some home protection of the DIY kind. Any one have a site or direction for me to look into. I may have been to it already, but anything would help.

Also advice from experienced gun owners only please. I am not interested in the argument of the subject. You will not change my views. I have first hand experiences of the positive of being a gun owner.

Thx in advance.

Not sure about Missoula city limits, but the concealed carry laws are here:
45-8-321. Permit to carry concealed weapon.

I am not aware there are any restrictions for carrying a firearm outside of city limits as long as it isn't concealed.

Some cities have harrasment laws such as Helena where the firearm must be unloaded within city limits.

State laws are pretty open, city laws are a rats nest so you may want to check with the local city attorney to be safe.

MTSilvertip is right, of course. You can also get a copy of a great little book titled, Gun Laws of Montana by Gary Marbut who just happens to be president of the Montana Shooting Sports Association, and who, by the way, lives in Missoula.

Good luck,

mg

You need to get out of Philly ASAP and come out West! I don't think anyone who is a regular on this forum would dream of trying to change your views on that subject .

I am 58 years young and I just spent the last 2 days on the worst trip I have ever made in my life. I saw no less than 15 accidents. I had one guy pass me and loose it. He died for his efforts. God rest his sole. I can't believe the trip I made. Roads were closed and opened before I got there. I left Sturgis South Dakota yesterday at 10. I got home at 8 last night. It took me 10 hours to go 230 miles, and it took 10 hours to get back.

I got home last night and I went to bed. I just woke up at 11. I was completely out of it. But hey, I made it to my appointment at Fort Meade. haha
