Yup, sounds like we will fit in just fine. Hope your son makes it out there! Anywhere is better than Yuba City....

And as for the car registration, it cant be as bad as California... can it? 2000 Chevy S10 cost me $150 annually here in CA.

That's cuz back around 1985, CA voters, via the initiative process, decided to stick it to truckers... forgetting that in CA, even mini-pickups are "commercial vehicles" and are taxed an additional weight fee at the same rate as are 18-wheelers. This roughly triples the cost of tags for any size of pickup, compared to a car of similar age, value, and weight.

When the weight fee got applied to pickups, my CA tags went from $34 to $150 from one year to the next.

I'm lookin' forward to those Permanent MT tags myself.

Car registration, cost me $300 yesterday. That is what you get when you don't pay sales tax, they find a way to get you.

If your question is to me, I used to show in galleries, but because of the high cost of framing and the 30% to 40% commission galleries take, that's a pretty high overhead. I license work as illustration and sell paintings unframed directly to buyers now. I've had a website for my art since 1997. My work is in the Directory of Illustration, which is a web site and an annual industry source book sent to publishers, ad agencies, art directors, manufacturers, who buy illustration.

Final yard clean-up today taking in all the bulbs for the winter and storing all the pots and containers that had flowers in them. I put chain link over my raspberries that grow on the south side of my garage, which keeps the snow drifts from breaking them down in the winter. I have a vintage concrete birdbath in one of the aspen groves I planted 24 years ago.

Some beautiful fall color still... I don't know why it hasn't snowed up in town yet, when it did snow out at the Missouri headwaters in the valley. That's weird.

Here are the most recent paintings, done in the last couple weeks. One is a commissioned portrait of a boy and the other, Lower Falls of the Yellowstone, I just chose to do... had it sketched on the canvas for awhile and finally got around to painting it.

Talent on the porch, talent in photos, paintings and story telling.
We are truly blessed.
Here is to good thoughts to Elkhunter, still under the weather as I hear.
I am over in Minnesota trying to get educated... Maybe I should get a student loan to the president can tell me I am not responsible to pay it back.
