Well next week’s city council meeting will be interesting, the developer for the logistics park on Todd Acres Drive is looking at $6.5 million in incentive ($2 million from the city) and councilor Reynolds is not happy with the developer right now

Interesting info . We all know that Mobile County is in need of a shopping outlet or lifestyle center.

I can believe, McGowin Park was developed during this times and I believe the entire space was filled for the longest time, although I think there is exactly one open space in the retail center (outside the undeveloped outparcels)

Tillmans Corner and Saraland have also seen large retail growth at their interchange

Also looks like, Loxley is trying to compete with Theodore, a large 1,000 acres logistics park may be coming to Loxley just off of I-10 at the intersection of HWY 59 and 90

I know there's an outlet center in Foley but is there a "lifestyle center" in Baldwin County?

Here, we have Bridge Street (the lifestyle center) but no outlet center anywhere nearby. I always thought it would be popular if one was built on 565, perhaps at the 65 interchange area for accessibility.

From what I've read, Bridge Street was recently bought by Tanger. Hopefully they don't turn it into an outlet center - it's fine just the way it is.

Looks like the Mobile-Baldwin area finished 2023 with 6,900 new jobs in the area (Mobile County - 4,900 jobs and Baldwin County - 2,000) with a job growth rate of 2.5%, out competing most of the Gulf Coast Metro Areas

Houston: 2.1%
Tampa: 1.8%
Cape Coral: 1.8%
Naples: 1.7%
Pensacola:1.1%

Panama City: 2.4%
Biloxi: 0.0%
New Orleans: 2.0%
Lafayette: 1.5%
Corpus Christi: 2.0%
Brownsville: 1.7%

In December of 2023 there are 284,700 jobs with 197,100 in Mobile County and 87,600 jobs in Baldwin County

The labor force in Mobile-Baldwin grew by 5,584 with Mobile County's Labor Force increasing by 3,881 and Baldwin County increased by 1,703

There's no way Mobile isn't growing right now
