Two days from March 1st and central MN still has -11 with a wind chill of -19 and it is in daytime at noon.

( headlines St Cloud Times )..............."Meterological winter finishes as 4th coldest on record ,3rd snowiest."

It also stated that the last 3 months had 14 days where daytime highs remained below 0.

It has only happened before in the winter of 1976-1977

Twin Cities is 9th coldest...but in reality-it's the second coldest is almost everyone's lifetime..unless you were alive in 1935-36, or you are well over 100 years old

The strange part is there are many record highs from the summer of 1936 that still stand today.

2:30 in the afternoon , March 1.........................and it is still -9 with a -26 wind chill by I-94 in Melrose MN.

I'm not looking forward to the upcoming thaw, deep road mush ruts, refreeze cycle that will be soon ocurring but it does signal the end of winter.
