I'm just dreading the centipede (and other spider) return. The four centipedes that were on my walls one Spring in my basement bathroom haunt me to this day.

How can I find out how much snow has fallen for the entire winter in St. Paul? I tried Googling it, but nothing came up.

The official measurements are taken at the airport though so that might be why it's hard to find St. Paul specifically

Since we're having a really cold winter, we're going to have summers similar to North Dakota and the Prairies of Canada where it's going to get well into the upper 90's and even the lower 100's. I remember last year I've been so used to the cold that I found 71 to be hot!

Better get your last skates in today/tonight because in a day or two all our ice rinks are going to be ponds. I'm going to the state tourney tonight so can't but if they're still frozen tomorrow I'm game.

Default Predictions about 2014 Winter Weight Gain

So, up here in International Falls the winter has been particularly awful; at least in Minneapolis and Duluth there are fun, pretty people to look at, places that are open, and lots of indoor activities going on. While I go to the gym here, I definitely did not see the usual influx of people after January 1st. I'm curious as to how many people will come out of the woodwork in a month or two having gained massive amounts of weight from being locked inside whenever possible.

Has anyone else noticed or experienced weight gain this winter versus other winters? I do know that I have talked to a lot of people who have been severely depressed...it would be nice for them to get out of here for a few days or a week, but these are people who are worried about paying their heating bill and rent - a vacation doesn't appear likely for many of them. Even joining the gym doesn't seem to be a possibility. I know that for a lot of people exercise helps, and yes, you can workout at home with no equipment. But this winter for sure I sense a real loss of interest and lack of motivation to get up, get moving and eat well.

Time will tell. I hope people haven't gained a lot of weight or gone back to bad habits they thought they conquered (up here it's drinking!)...
