Update on impending snow storm Tuesday-Tuesday night in Minnesota. This is from Novak Weather and he has been doing a good job with this storm I believe and his maps/amounts appear quite accurate..... heaviest just NW of the cities....but 3-6 looks very reasonable heavier NW side of the metro and lower SE. Tight gradient too from heavy snow to mixed precip.

Anything about round 2 later in the week--Thursday/Friday--is that going to be accumulating or more of a nuisance?

Hi

To me it was looking like nusiance stuff...rain or light snow for central-southern minnesota....nothing big one of those systems from the northwest moving southeast so not much moisture... However a few inches of snow possible in northern minnesota roughly along highway 2.....thursday night into friday.

Dan

Another fast moving for potent snow event will hit northern Minnesota late tonight into Friday....some rain showers or maybe thunder for the Twin Cities... but several inches of snow very likely very near Highway 2 from Grand Forks to Duluth.

Low pressure will move through the state Monday giving some storms to southern Minnesota....but do expect a heavy snow and blizzard up in the Red River valley and snow will spread through northern MN Monday afternoon-night-early Tuesday. a foot possible mainly north of Fargo-Park Rapids-Hibbing.

Another storm but this time a bit south....but does look to impact a large part of southern/central/eastern Minnesota. Models give a general 6-12 inch snow for St Cloud-Minneapolis-Rochester up toward Duluth and even back toward Marshall-Mankato.

Winter storm watches are out issued by NWS Chanhassen...
