What a week its been! Congrats Minneapolis. There's 2 sites in MSP that report snow through the CLI.

  • Caribou with 7.9" this past week goes from 13th place....and stays at 13th place. Now 23" of snow for the season which is 10.8" above normal.
  • Great Falls with 17" of snow this past week pulls ahead even further. Now with 5 feet of snow on the season, almost 4 feet above normal!
  • Fairbanks got kicked down from 3rd place to 9th.
  • Rapid City with 18.7" this past week jumped from 14th place to 3rd! Wow! 33.8" for the season, over 2 feet above normal.
  • Flagstaff wasn't even on the list last week with 6.6" (52nd place) and now they are in the Top 12 with 24.2"
  • Minneapolis, Green Bay, & Fargo make the list for 1st time
Detroit, Flint, & Fargo get kicked off

This is brutal. Had hoped to get out and roof rake/snow blow/shovel earlier because the initial forecast called for the snow to be done by noon, but we're caught in a training band coming in from the northeast on the back side of the storm and now it looks like it could still be snowing toward sunset.

At least this upcoming week is looking dry with a few sunny days.

How much did you get out there? Looks like its over now.

That big orange circle is an Upper Level Low. A Vortex in the upper levels. I love these features!

See it spinning?

It finally stopped around 2:30 and we were able to get everything cleared by 4. Probably in the area of 5 or 6 inches from this system.....not nearly as much as points north and east. Hinckley got over a foot and Duluth got 22 inches.

Stay safe guys... Snowing this morning. Heavy under the darker blues and purples. I see reports of 4-6" has fallen where the snow ended
