....my theory is that neither party resembles much of what they were about 15-20 years ago. The base of each party have moved further to their respective sides. The large swath of the "middle and or slightly left or right of center" was left to go to whatever side somewhat aligned with their values.

I don't think its as much as the people changing as much as the extremism in both parties has changes and people have had to choose sides.

It seems to me that the internet has made extremists more visible. They have always been there. We can still ignore them, though.

I hear Whitmer is popular in Indiana. She's on highway billboards down there.

Why do people always assume that if people dislike or disagree with a public figure then it has to be because of their sex or race? Do you honestly believe that everyone thinks alike and the only distinction between any of us is our sex or our race? How simplistic!

I am a woman, I have zero fear of "women in power", and I don't like anything at all about Gretchen Whitmer. The very least of my concerns is that she is a woman, because for crying out loud, who cares?

LOL- so she's immune from criticism just because she's a woman?

You could not do that last year in Michigan.

Also, ate inside at a restaurant in Ohio in December while Big Gretch still had Michigan locked down.

And Ohio, where border towns are benefiting.

Regarding restaurants, there was a feature on the local news last night giving info that Ohio and Indiana have had as many or more permanent closures than Michigan. It surprised the reporters as well as me. It's a nation wide phenomenon, with approximately equal closure numbers.
