And 570 hospitalized. I believe yesterday was the first day with more than 100 people in the ICU since early July.

Like a kick in the teeth.

Well at least it's not a huge increase from yesterday in terms of new cases. That's something at least.

Correct - high school hockey is scheduled to begin on November 30. Any hockey going on now are club team, rec leagues, etc.

Big jump in hospitalizations. Almost 600 state wide with over 100 in the ICU. Bottomed out around 300 total hospitalizations and I think we were at 1500-2000 hospitalized back in Mar/April.

Yeah, but no hospital has even 10 COVID patients in the ICU. They seem to be doing a pretty good job keeping it out of the nursing homes and most people age 70+ who would land in an ICU are on the sidelines in a bubble. I don’t think we will have a repeat of the mess we had last spring. The highest risk people are less likely to contract the disease.

That said, I’m cutting back on the low-medium risk things and creating a 3 month supply of consumables in case we decide to go back to InstaCart and making Bezos richer.

I really hope that's true. I'm encouraged by the percentage breakdown between hospitalizations and ICU - for awhile more than a quarter of hospitalized people were in the ICU. Anecdotally, my local hospital is able to admit people with far less severity than they could manage even in June.

For the first time in months, I've been able to find rubbing alcohol (Whole Foods, 4 limit) and bleach wipes (Target, limit 1). Every time I'm in Target, I buy another canister since I'm running low of what I bought in February. Paper towel availability seems spotty again too, which just makes me want to buy more, though at least for the last month I've been able to get my favorite TP! Never again will I buy just a 4 or 6 pack, though, or let me home supply go below 4 rolls.

The number of people in the ICU is double what it was 2 months ago.

I’ve been able to finally get some n95 and n100 masks and organic canisters for my respirator so I can finally finish the bodywork on my project car. For the longest time I was running into “reserved for first responders” restrictions preventing me from ordering. I’ve been able to replenish my other PPE like googkes and a face shield and gloves and such as well. I’ve always used these for household and automotive projects, but since March things got tight. Now I’ve been able to resupply
