For that kind of money you'd expect something nicer. It doesn't need to be gutted to the bare walls and I'd hate to lose some of the architectural features, but it needs a substantial amount of work.

There seems to a be a slight heroin problem in Waltham?

10 overdoses in 10 days (June 2018): https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...qbN/story.html

heroin, attempted murder, drug ODs (2018): https://patch.com/massachusetts/walt...am-police-logs

$200,000 worth of drugs seized (2017): https://patch.com/massachusetts/walt...around-waltham

triple murder drug related in waltham few years back, still not solved i believe. definitely some heavy drug dealers around in the area: The Waltham Triple Murders | Sword and Scale

in lowell bulletproof wearing drug dealer was caught with 1 kilo of heroin on him (street value >$100,000) in march 2018: https://www.masslive.com/news/boston...proof_ves.html

Not as bad as Cape Cod heroin problem but still..

Drugs may go away or may stay, who knows. Waltham used to be not a good neighborhood not so long ago maybe its just a remainder of what it used to be.

Math was the Soviet thing. Not a huge surprise they’re good at it.

No wonder the demand is crazy, no one ever sells and everyone wants to buy to lock in todays property tax for eternity
Does MA have something similar?
No, but it seems like the assessor doesn’t make his or her way around every house every year. So some people are most certainly underpaying the true value of their home.

Let's not forget about Russian chemists too - Mendeleev did invent periodic table of elements. Kind of like inventing an alphabet...

...too bad it's such a corrupt country.

Uuhhh not to this extent...i don't know about your town but in mine we don't have an overdose everyday and/or heroin selling drug dealers walking around in bullet proof vests... And I hope it stays that way. Lol

Mass did decriminalize weed so maybe it will help with heavy drugs. Time will tell.

I know that if I'm spending half a million to a million (a fortune by world standards) I'd definitely want a better place to live in. That's just me.

If you've ever been in Eastern Tennessee or Memphis, you'd understand why. Nashville is the only city with a high concentration of white collar professionals. Even there, it's concentrated in Williamson County.
