Unless you call that structure in your backyard where you keep your mower, shovel and rakes a barn, then you're not a southernor either. You more than likely call it a shed.

I hear all of this nonsense about cultural this and cultural that and how MD is a southern state because of it. Trust me. It is a whole different culture here in the south. Just speaking to the children will convince you of that. They ALL say Yes Ma'am and Yes Sir and use the term Mister or Miss when speaking with an adult. They are taught to absolutely respect their elders. I go back to MD on a regular basis and that type of thing has been missing in MD for a very long time.
So All you are proving is the Fact that most people from parts of Virginia, the Carolina's, parts of Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and other parts of the deep south contain HATRED towards the state of Maryland......

Again the only people that are referring to Maryland as being ghetto are the socially psychotic confederate flag worshiping Maryland Hating Deep Southerners.......

Some folks from the D.C area are ghetto and some are not. But most of D.C & PG County is the ghetto. You might be safe there because maybe you're from the area but it isn't safe for folks like myself who aren't used to that type of environment. It isn't safe nor is it nice, most of both places are run down and full of projects inside the beltway surrounded by good neighborhoods close by. And whatever that comes the folks who live in the projects/hoods and who run down these places, all folks that live there don't but many do. Montgomery County is cool. My favorite places to visit is Silver Spring, Bethesda, and Rockville.

I'm not a Maryland hater and that was my opinion about D.C & PG County.

Looks like some folks can't handle the truth and don't wanna face reality.

Um no. Most of PG and DC are not run down and full of projects. That's the reality.

I am really surprised by this statement. I have lived in Maryland for more than 20 years and in North Carolina for more than 40. Never, even once, have I met anyone in any part of NC who "hates" Maryland. The people in NC have always been kind, friendly, helpful, and polite toward this old Marylander (which I very much appreciate).

Nope. That would be another incorrect statement as well.

No?

Well, it sure does look run-down to me. Landover, Capitol Heights, NE/SE D.C., and etc comes to mind.

I agree. Some folks have "ghetto mentality" because that is all they know about or were raised around.
