I guess Caribou people have stopped complaining about their lack of snow, huh?

Currently here in Aurora, ME..44F Degrees, Dew Point 44F Degrees, Winds NNE 14mph, Low Tonight 32F Degrees
Awoke to at least 4" of the fluff & stuff...Rained, blew and melted much...traversed through puddles and area flooding during our commute home...
Windshield wippers off the windshield, Oyster- Shell (spread on walkway and carried in the car for traction)! Will have to whip- off at least one fleece blanket tonight...Hopeful forward to freeze until Mid-February (appears rather doubtful)! Already tiring of the deluge during the day and freeze overnight which lends to a fretful commute in the early am...

Rain two days ago took away all the snow. I never wanted that in the winter because then I always got MUD. But now I don’t care, since I have an asphalt driveway. The rain clears out the ice that collects here and there, and there is no mud.

Won’t be long before we get some more snow.

Hey there!! I'm the original poster of this thread and it was brought to my attention from one who frequently contributes on here that I need to see where this has gone over the last couple of years. I'm humbled that this has become one of the more active threads here on City Data. A big thank you to all who has kept this alive and going. I tried a weather thread for my home state of Oklahoma and could not get much participation so it gradually succumbed into the recesses of forgotten posts.. so be it.

So, I'll do my best with what time I have in my busy schedule to contribute whenever possible, heck, this is even a better reason that I need to get back to Maine for a very long overdue visit (been since 1975 when I spent a summer in Rangeley!)

With that said.. I'll start by offering a site that maybe your not familiar with. Now you might know about WeatherBell; a paid subscription site that is one of the best on the internet. Joe Bastardi's video's that are posted daily is a chief reason why I keep this subscription going. Dr. Ryan Maue who was with WeatherBell up until last summer did an amazing job developing the maps for them. Dr. Maue is no longer with them and now has partnered up with this company https://weather.us . You need to check this site out. The guy who started this is from Switzerland and actually is based in a small community not far from where I live here in Oklahoma. One of the chief contributors is an aspiring meterologist based out of Maine. I think you can get a free trial and the maps available are endless. They have just about every model you can think of on there including the European data. Let me know what you think.

Again, thanks to all who have kept this going. I will contribute more whenever possible.
