Caribou is the third most likely place in the lower 48 to have a white Christmas. Looks like that will hold this year.

After we get through this weather system......looks like clear sailing over the next couple of weeks with high temps in the 30s/40s and lows in the 20s. NICE!

Next couple of weeks? Don't believe Accuweather... However, the pattern in general is mild for the East for a good chunk of December.

Feels like it's going to be one of those years where it snows but doesn't stick around long. Such an anomaly last year. We'll see.

For now.. Snow total maps are out from NWS.

I'm kind of sad, there's no snow here, at all and we're on the border of Aroostook county. Maybe it's just an anomaly, but I've gone outside and looked many times, it's still just rain.

Temps at the mid levels are still above freezing. Wasn't supposed to start snowing until after lunchtime today. Just checked the models and it's after 2pm.

Just checked the forecast and it confirms what I saw. Heads up on the commute this evening! Try to leave early.

Random weather thought for myself for the morning: just because we're experiencing a mild pattern, don't become complacent. Super charged weather could and will happen anytime.

Here it comes on schedule.

10:45am temps showing 40s for central Maine still but as soon as the snow falls through the sky evaporational cooling will take place and lower the temps at the surface. So snow will(should) fall all the way down.

You'll start to see the liquid transition to frozen precip first, then snow. Like Bangor should see the transition this evening
