Wicked nice people at QT. Where else could a stranger to the area walk into the publisher's office, pitch a column and walk out 20 minutes later with the column. Paula made the initial contact so this wasn't completely out the blue. I had 24 hours notice and we didn't have an outline or samples. I gave him a measly business card. You wouldn't believe what I put writers through when they pitched columns to me. We made the agreement on a handshake.
Yep, that means your word. It also means if there are ever any issues, you should remember that you shook hands and made an agreement. Sometimes we go into business deals with so much "contractual language" it almost seems as if we expect the venture to fail ahead of time, and are already cutting our losses.

oh i hope these come through. it was 28 degrees here in SW FL!
Picture came through fine.
Same here in North Florida. The temp outside now is 38*... the high today was 45...we have a fire in the fireplace...3yrs ago was the last time it was cool enough during the day to use the fireplace.
Glad to see they have the sprinklers on. Hopefully it will keep the losses down and not run the citrus prices through the roof.
It's actually just one of the citrus trees in our yards...but yes, we do put the sprinklers on to keep the temp from going to low. i had a really cool picture of a rose dripping in ice but it didn't go through. this cold spell we had is actually good for the fruit....colors 'em up and makes 'em sweeter. Mamosas this weekend YEAH!
Mimosas for breakfast, right? My neighbor just gave me a whole load of oranges, nectarines, grapefruit and lemons. The oranges will be sweet after the cold spell. I picked one the other day and ewww!!! Bitter!

We usually have them (when we have them) for brunch. I can't do champagne early in the morning. I have an "after 11am" rule.
