I couldn't see the meteors either, but I actually dreamed about them this morning! I guess I really wanted to see them. In my dream, it looked like fireworks sailing across the sky. It was beautiful!

Is anyone familiar with Jean Shepherd, the late radio personality? Below is a link to a sound file of a show he did back in 1971, which begins with a recollection of him as a child, lying in bed at his home in Indiana, reading about faraway Maine. The first 5-6 minutes bring a tear to my eye, since my body is in northern NJ but my mind is in Maine.

I wrote a story years ago for kids. Family members say I should have it published. The title is "Loose Moose in the Caboose". It's based partly on facts and they make the best stories. What I need is an illustrator because it's written for the 6 to 10 age group, but adults enjoy hearing the story told.
Publishers normally like to choose the illustrator. It's usually someone they've worked well with in the past. If you have someone in mind you can make a suggestion.

For El and anyone else moving to Maine with kids, I thought you might like to see what a pre-K kid looks like all ready to go to school. The bag in her hands is full of "cards" she made for her class. Folded up pieces of paper each bearing the word Hi! in one corner and nothing else. She is very proud that she can write Hi!.
