lol....yes!! it's ALL your fault David....I did hear that they're going to do something different with the rep system....but I don't know what or when...that's helpful huh?? lol...
and David, are you always up that late? I was asleep last night by 10:30--that's late for me!! I was really tired though....lots of hiking with those geocaches
hey El--yup, we got 4 caches on Friday.....they can be all different sizes--from a film canister with only a rolled piece of paper for a log, to a "regular" size container--ammo box, or large lock-n-lock similar to tupperware or rubbermaid plastic--the small, medium and regular caches have a log book, and then items for trading---pins from other states or countries, patches, markers, t-shirts, crayons, carabiners, key chains--no food or anything scented (it will attract animals).....the ideas are endless---I carry a pack of items for trading---small first aid kits, germ-x, crayons, sidewalk chalk, marbles, geocache stickers or clings, small notebooks, batteries (for their GPS), and dollar bills. You sign your name in the log book, and then when you get home you log it online...your name in the log book is the proof that you were there--if the cache owner has any suspicions that you weren't, the log book can be used to verify it . For me, and for most people, the fun is in the search for the cache, not so much what's in it--and the best part is that a lot of times it will take you places you'd never go otherwise . For instance, 2 of the caches that I got on Friday were on a beach that until last year when I tried to go get them I'd never been to that beach--even though I grew up an hour away . It's a lot of fun, especially if you love being outside (me!), and love the idea of treasure hunting (me!)
