Yummmy. We had a ham tonight, which supposedly was really good, but even though I cooked it, I never eat the stuff. Funny the throw backs from picky eating childhood. LOL
The hotel is beautifully decorated this time of year. One of the parts I enjoy is in the sitting area between the front desk and the restaurant are gingerbread houses! The largest is the Algonquin There didn't seem to be as many this year, but in the past they've been auctioned, so I'm not sure how many were there to start. How cool is that?!

Lovely...I like to look at Gingerbread houses. I bake gingerbread and/or make gb cookies for Christmas. I think Algonquin may become a New Year Tradition when we get there!
I'd never been either until we started doing this.....we usually do a special dinner out with nearly the same group of people before Christmas as well. Last year we did something called a "dine-around" over in St. Andrews. You start at one restaurant, have appetizers there, then move through other courses at different restaurants around town. My favorite last year was that we ended at Kingsbrae Gardens for dessert. You had to walk through the Christmas decorated gardens to get to the restaurant. It was magical!
Just stumbled across this website from NOAA. Kind of neat, and you can check all kinds of weather related items with it. NOHRSC Interactive Snow Information
Is it appropriate to leave my pine swags on the front door until spring if I take the Christmas red bows off of them? They are gorgeous and the greenery is still alive and fresh looking. I just hate to throw them away! They were made with Norfolk Pine branches. They're really pretty. They could simple winter decor, right?
