Today is "moving day" for my son and his family. They are moving from a rental in S. Portland to the house they bought in Saco. After tonight it's status will be elevated from "the house" to "HOME".

My other son up in Maine will be helping them move. I wish I were there to help...but I might get in the way of the heavy lifting. LOL Whats the weather fore cast for the Portland Saco area today? I am hoping it isn't stormy.

I am so pleased for them and especially for my grand daughter. She now is certain that Santa will know where to find her.....but she also has a loose tooth and is wondering if Santa will tell the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny where she moved to.

Aww! That's wonderful - a whole day of new beginnings. I'm so happy for them, Elston! Tell them we're all thinking of them. It will be wonderful to be able to spend Christmas in a new HOME!

I haven't told them about my participation in this "on line forum" lol I think they would worry. The last time I got on line, I ended up "coming out", "quitting my job" and "moving to California". LOL

I was looking at a white van that was really nice, but the miles and the sales price were just too high for my comfort. Mom said, "Besides, if you get a white van, you're going to blend right in with the snow in Maine, and people may not see you coming!"

So I bought the green one. She then said, "Great! Now you're going to blend in with the trees!!"

I finally said, "Mom, there's not a color in nature that we won't find in Maine!"

So, we will arrive sometime next year in our pretty, tree-green Grand Caravan! Be watching for us - and don't run over us!!
Great! It's wonderful to get a good deal on a big ticket item like a car. And green's a good choice. I like white cars, but they show dirt, even dust pretty bad.Maybe a white van wouldn't be the best choice for mud season?

LOL! That's pretty funny! (Although, I bet it was stressful at the time).

That's one of the great things about online forums--you can be yourself in ways that you might not with people that you see every day. Humans can be so judgemental about anyone who is different, and often competitive in ways that can be hurtful. (For heaven sakes!, be kind to each other--what have you got to lose???)

I was thinking that this particular forum is sort of like having a lot of "imaginary" friends i.e. safe, but better because they are real--kind of crazy, huh?

Yes Yes and double Yes! that is why I said earlier and perhaps on a differnt post, that I doubt that I will ever meet any of you dear friends in my real life in Maine; but I will see characters in the supermarket or at the beach or kyaking past me on the lake, or sitting in the diner having hash and eggs, or selling me a mess of beans at the farmers market, ..... that look a lot like I picture you!

I understand that many of you look forward to a gathering of the yaya and yoyo's. I won't be there. But you can bet when I drive across the bridge into Milo I will smile and think of dear msina and in Argyle i will think of a cumudgeon I know who lives there, and if I ever get to Carabou I hve a friend or two up there and when in traffic from Gorham to Portland I will wonder if the person in front of me just relocated, if the brokerman or the fan-me guy is selling that house with the for sale sign.....You are all dear dear friends to me, friends I can share and open to.....my cyber community of friends. I want to keep you just as you are to me...safe and available and not diminished in any way by what passes as reality.

Thank you! I had a most enlightening night last eve. Learned many things, not the least of which is "when walking in the Dark, slow down... things are not always as they seem." which works on many levels! LOL

Regarding car colors... my friend is looking at xterra vehicles and seems to be leaning toward the BRIGHT yellow, instead of his usual sliver/grey for a vehicle. So you'll likely see us and we will keep our eyes peeled for "trees that move".

We are beginning the new season with a new (used) van. My mom and dad happened upon a good deal yesterday, and came and got me and I ended up coming home with a van that my DH hasn't even seen yet. It was just too good a deal to pass up and will meet our family's needs quite well. It's also a MUCH lower financial commitment, which will be nice. But, my mom said something that made my mind turn to Maine......of course!

Thank you much! I greeted the Sun as it rose today and will spend some time shortly outside, enjoying the rays, as we are due (again) for rain -- much needed -- tomorrow.

I hope that wasn't all at once! But sometimes change comes like that...
