Anyone find it funny (or sad) how we have a profound lack of coverage in the media on the rampant looting that is taking place? People were using boats to go up and down the canals in Lindenhurst to loot the home since the PD stopped traffic into the area based on "safety", but never bothered to patrol the areas. I knew it was happening, but didn't know it got that bad. It gets worse in SI and Rockaways. Lots of "you loot, we shoot" signs, and I know of at least one person who has shot at looters.
We need a story of a looter shot and killed spread everywhere, maybe then it will slow it down a bit. Too many animals out there sadly for it to go away. I've heard the same thing about them coming in on boats. NYPD set up those ridiculously useless booths that are raised up to tree level to keep an eye out, that should be good to prevent looting in a 2 house radius.
Friend of mine in Amity Harbor had someone try to break into his home while he was at work and his girlfriend at his house. Was jimmying the lock until she screamed and then they took off.
Lots of important news items seemed to be quashed concerning the storm. Of course, News12 likes to harp on Lipa, Lipa and Lipa.
The only verified report of looting I've seen is that guy who hit a few houses in Garden City. That could just be a lack of reporting, but it would be nice to see verified reports other than a bunch of doomsday prepper types with itchy trigger fingers thinking every bla... uh, unusual person they see is up to no good.
You obviously live in an apartment complex on the north shore.
