Too bad you can't get Dominion (https://www.dom.com/) to take over. The service is great and the rates reasonable, being the only power company in the state they can't raise the rates without permission of the State Corporation Commision.
In the Newsday article, it said he never even got the helm. He was just "interim CEO" for 2 years ... while Cuomo was considering Jon Kaiman, of all people, for the CEO.
OMG. Excuse me while I go throw up.
Seriously.
This is making me sick.
I dreamt last night I was looking at a house in New Jersey. (Don't know if THAT would be much of an improvement.)
I would dream a little further west... say Colorado or Utah Property taxes on 3800 sq. ft. are less than 1% of the purchase price. $400k goes pretty far in SLC, if you can get past the Mormons.

Living on Long Island is like living in Sherwood Forest except instead of robbing from the rich and giving it to the poor.......they rob from the rich and give it to the richer.

It's not the storm or even the people...it's the politics of the Island. When things that don't make any sense at all, start to make sense...it's time to go. Nothing goes easy....always the hard road taken there.
A private company owning a monopoly on a basic human need and holding its customers hostage is no panacea.
We've already tried that before anyway.
Remember LILCO? The private company? And how they milked the public for the highest rates in the nation at that time and all they spent money on was lavish executive compensation and shareholder profits?
Maybe you are too young to remember what went on with LILCO. It was a horror.
I think, private or public, what the electricity provider on LI needs first and foremost is strict oversight.
Even as he was leading one of the most troubled utility companies in the United States, William J. Catacosinos was working on another task: laying the foundation for a lucrative departure from the utility, the Long Island Lighting Company.
The fruits of that labor emerged last week, when it was disclosed that Dr. Catacosinos, 68, had received a $42 million payment as a result of New York State's partial takeover of the utility.

I looked in southern UT. I didn't need 3800 sf, but it seems that the nicer neighborhoods have the larger homes. One house I really liked was only $599K for approx 3200 sf LOL
Meanwhile, this [expletives deleted] idiot built an entire nuclear power plant from the ground up without receiving full permission to run it and said scrapped power plant cost LI'ers $6 billion over 30 years.
Is there an icon for throwing up?
