My family and I (wife and two infants) are planning on moving to Las Vegas and would like to be in Henderson or close to it, but we find most of the homes to be cookie cutter stucco nightmares. What is a good, relatively affordable neighborhood for a style-conscious young couple with kids?

If I'm not mistaken the houses are built that way to withstand the extreme heat of the summer. The only non-stucco cookie cutter you'll most likely find is up on Mt. Charleston, or one of the high rise condo towers. Good luck in your search...

Sounds like you already have a chip on your shoulder, or are just terribly arrogant and rude. Why don't you move someplace where you'd be happier to live? Or is that possible?

Excuse me ! I live in Henderson area in the Emerald Valley subdivision. Its at Warm Springs and Stephanie. I love my house and I love this area , its close to EVERYTHING. Even though it was built in 1996, its comfortable and has a large back yard.

Nome, Alaska, is very close to Henderson. Why don't you look into moving there?

You will find your cookie cutter stucco nightmares throughout the Southwest, either accept and adapt because you want to live in Nevada...or try Cali or better still, the other Coast..lol.

There ARE some mid-century modern type homes and even some upscale contemporary homes scattered here and there throughout the Las Vegas valley, but most homes that are built here are the ones you seem not to like...

You need to be a relatively well off young couple before you get the style-conscious neighborhoods.

In all truthfulness you are going to get stucco and tight unless you spend more money. You can however get clever places in Mountain Edge or Inspirada or such. They will however still be stucco and tight together. Only money cures that.

There are also some nice joints in older Green Valley Ranch that have a nice green laid back feel. You might like those.

And get a little more positive about what you want. Otherwise the local trible will lift your scalp and hang it from the tent pole. You dont want that to happen .

My son's house is similar to others on his block but with a little paint it can have its own look and be different than those that are the stucco color.

How utterly charming, come into a forum and insult its members homes as ugly. You may think you are 'style-conscious', but certainly lacking style. Sorry.
