+1 ^^. If you do go to Fremont Street (downtown), I suggest going to Firefly for Tapas. It is inside The Plaza with an outstanding view of the Fremont Street Experience. There is bus service.

Tapas has its roots in Spanish fare. Usually, its appetizer sized dishes served on small plates with just enough food for a table of 4 to get a bite or two of each dish.

It can be an expensive way to eat if you're hungry.

Firefly is probably the most original tapas place in town and they have been around a while. New kids on the block are Cana at Town Square and Julian Serrano at City Center.

Ceviches, empanadas, mac and cheese, bacon wrapped dates, serrano ham, potatoes and sausage. Stuff like that.

Cana and Firefly have insanely good Sangria.

I used to work for a British company (but based in the US) & can confirm what David's saying.

In August, when we tried to reach someone in the London/York/Scarborough office you might as well have listened to a recording of crickets chirping. The whole bloody office went to Spain on holidays. The way they talked about it I swear half of Britain goes to Spain for the month of August.

I'll second the motion on Tiffany's Cafe. I was there on Monday, and had their Monster Deluxe burger. It's a 1lbs burger, cooked to order, and comes with a plate full of nicely seasoned fries. At $7.95, it's a great deal.
