There is no way they can call 10000 people in 1 day but they can sure do a mass emailing, It is starting to get cold at night here in Buffalo Ny and I long for the hot desert. Good luck everyone and God Bless

I didn't know you were from Buffalo! I am from Buffalo! I live here in Vegas though I hope you get it, you will love the winters here!

Not only that, I have talked to many of the construction workers who are currently building the eyesore. They all agree on this too. I personally would not accept a job if they were willing to pay me 3 times what I make now. The reason being, I know the job would be temporary, regardless of what they told me. I feel bad for everyone who has wasted all their time applying for city center, but the truth needs to be told.
There's no way they can fire EVERYBODY after the 90 days. Someone has to work there.
Even if they only keep the internal transfers, the opening of the CC is going to open a lot of positions at other MGM properties.
I agree with others in writing that if you don't have specific info about the hiring process don't bother writing. That also goes for the ones writing about what a horrible place it is and how much you hate it and that we are all going to be fired Blah..Blah..Blah

My friend applied for bartender at Aria. They are external. 14+ years bartending in a casino on the LV Strip.

sounds to me like some bitter tears here being shed by airics & friends after being denied at their first screening.

no one needs to worry about 'the chopping block'... they were initially planning on hiring 12,000..which they cut back to 10,000 to avoid any overstaffing.

also, they seem to be hiring a lot of people to work 'flex' shifts, which will also help them avoid 'chopping' employees.

to those that are hired already and those that will get hired, pay no mind to what these folks are saying, City Center is going to be huge and extremely successful.

That actually makes a lot more business sense, and I'm sure that much more thought out business sense and foresight, especially nowadays, has been put into the process by CC! This seems more rational than nonsensical speculation. Well said.

i'm on a flexible shift, and i also believe for us part timers that during the first 90 days as we show our performance and attitude we will be considered for full time work by management, at least thats what i will be shooting for, i'll make it so they wont want to lose me and so offer me full time

I had to back track about 10 pages, and a few were pretty negative. I would like to contribute my opinion at this time.

City Center IS NOT going to go under!!! c.c. was built my mgm/mirage and dubai world. If c.c. goes under, so does ALL the other casinos (I think). and as for dubai world, just look at the city of dubai ... it's insane! So obviously, there is money somewhere. I think that (maybe) even the government might come in to help with tax deductions for helping out the highest umemployment in Nevada history.

This post was meant to be positive and to help assure anyone who has a doubt about this project.

And also a FACT if 10,000 people out of 100,000PLUS get hired, that means that 9/10 are NOT going to get a job. So negative posts will propably be written. But please stay strong Nevada, America, THE WORLD no matter WHAT the outcome!!!

(That is just my own personal opinion and everybody has a different opinion)

I plan on doing the same thing dude64. If you just work your ... off and be a contributer all you can hope for is someone to take notice and move you up. I have started out part-time at a hotel that only had about 20 employees in total and was able to work up into management. So it *can* be done as long as you have the determination and patience to do it.

I want to thank all the possitive, supportive posts people have written. To everyone who feels the need to come on here and bully and call it "reality" or "truth" please start your own "Bitter Folks Anonymous" thread. We don't need people on here who act like that on this thread.
