It really doesn't matter what kind of opiates he overdosed on. They all kill you the same way. Shoot up on street heroin or down nice clean RX pills. Take too much and you stop breathing.

And before someone argues that it wasn't an "overdose," an overdose is simply taking an excessive amount.

Keep taking deep breaths. The effect will wear off in a couple of hours.

It really could have been much worse...he could have been found hanging in a hotel closet with a rope tied around his genitals! David Carridine's family is still refusing to accept the auto-erotic asphyxiation explanation...and the more they they fight it...the more publicity it gets!

Right, and it doesn't matter if he committed suicide or if it was an accident. What difference does it make? You're dead either way.

Uhhh are you suggesting the scheduling has something to do with their potency?

I think you are mixing up pharmocology and administration.

I will agree that they are chemically differentiatable.

I believe heroin at various times was a legitimate prescription drug...used to wean addicts off opium if I remeber correctly.

Again that is more a public policy decision.

Uh, no. There's nothing even remotely hinting at drug potency in the two sentences you quoted.

Seriously? I was lead to believe they were exactly the same. I read it on the intarweb.

Opiates and Opioids--the former comes from the poppy plant, the latter from the lab.
Oxycotin is an opioid that is lethal.
