Sudden death syndrome takes nearly a half million people in the U.S. alone every year. When he implanted my AICD, my electrophysiologist told me he thinks everyone should have one. My dad was 53 when he dropped dead. Many of my friends were about that age or much younger when they died. Without the device I wouldn't be here either.

Is an AICD the same thing as a pacemaker?

Not always, but in my case it does both. Depends on whether you need it as to how many wires they use. Talk about a computer. It's tiny, but it tells them more about me than I want them to know. :-)

Default Gans was 'down in the dumps' before death

A report from Mike Weatherford. Coroner still awaiting toxicology reports as reported in todays paper (separate story)...

"David Graham, a personal pastor and golf buddy to the late impressionist, said his friend was "unusually low in spirits" when they golfed on the day he died."

MIKE WEATHERFORD: Gans was 'down in the dumps' before death - Neon - ReviewJournal.com

And this blurb from LV entertainment reporter Norm Clarke..

THE SCENE AND HEARD

"No one's willing to discuss it, but there's an insurance issue involving Danny Gans and his deal with Encore at Wynn Las Vegas that suggests Gans had concerns about his health."

"Accidental" Overdose on a medication that the family didn't know he was taking for a disease the family didn't know he had. Any other skeptics out there?

Let's face it, he died of a drug overdose.

This "cause of death" given at the press conference is far more media friendly and less likely to tarnish the memory of a well known Las Vegas celebrity.

The whole thing reeks of "media speak"
