No overdose, or drug abuse in this case---dilaudid was the culprit---not Gans. It came in a clean, amber bottle from some pharmacy---what a terrible reaction to an acceptable form of medication. Gans probably had sub-standard health care, and was victim of a greedy pharmacy.

Well, quite obviously he was a druggie if he overdosed from pharmaceutical heroin. How in the world the coroner and medical examiner maintain that this is not a case of drug abuse is beyond me. You are in touch with them, right?

While I'm not an MD, if Gans could perform on a regular basis, and play golf, he was not a good canidate for dilaudid. Short, intense pain, such as passing a kidney stone, etc., was not Gans' problem, addiction was.

Does a toxicology report determine the SOURCE of a morphine poisoning? Do they establish if morphine, opium, dilaudid, heroin, etc. is the drug that was ingested?

Another hack who has obviously been duped-

Alan Barbour, a forensic toxicology consultant in Fresno, Calif., said Gans' existing medical conditions could have made him less tolerant of the painkiller. "A debilitated patient can be pushed over the edge by drug levels that wouldn't necessarily be harmful for someone in good health," he said.
What do those forensic toxicologists know anyway?

There is no doubt, Gans used dilaudid sparingly, and existing medical conditions were the cause of a severe reaction to this drug, 20 times stronger than morphine. Any MD who prescribes this drug would surely not consider existing health issues. What a shame this medical error could occur to the average citizen.
