Yes, PLEASE have a job before you move here.
Don't expect to show up and have jobs materialize before your eyes.

Very good advice. I moved here six years ago when the economy was good and it still took quite a while to find a job. I can't imagine what it must be like out there right now.

It is very very hard to even get an interview without a las vegas address, so most likely you will be winging it

[LEFT]"Nevada's recovery is likely to lag the national recovery since Nevada is largely reliant on consumer sentiment and the willingness of consumers to spend disposable income," Anderson said. He adds that a return to annual employment growth may not be realized until 2011.

Wow, that statement is sure gonna be news to some that have been saying NV would recover faster!

Here are some national statistics, tables. Regional and State Employment and Unemployment Summary

Yes, from all accounts it looks like Vegas is getting hit very very hard as is everywhere else....I was actually going to move to Vegas, still want to, for a variety of reasons....How much months of living expenses would you reccomend having, is 6 mo's enough? Also, I know its hard to find a job, but what about substitute teaching for a young guy w/a college degree and solid job experience (not in education though) ? I would think theyd need subs and this would be good to hold over, starting in august when thenext school year starts, or is it really hard to get that job too? Thanks in advance.
