There's always the Bush Bungalows out by the ball park. I'm having a pretty hard time of it too. I've been out of the active job market for the last three years, and at my age (43), finding a job isn't easy, since I'll be competing with all of the snot nosed kids. With my luck, I probably couldn't get arrested for indecent exposure.

Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't the same people who are saying don't come here without a job the same ones who say you have to live here already to get hired?

Yeah, that was when there were more jobs to be had. It's gonna be hard for people either way.

On a positive note, my buddy found a job here doing some social work. It only took him about a week to get the interview. They hired him the same day. So, there is hope.

At least you seem to be learning from your experiences.

Homeless in Vegas might not be as bad as homeless in a snowy state.

But, I saw on the news that the homeless in Beverly Hills, CA do great

Good luck.

I like the attitude, bro. Its the attitude I came here with. Everybody was like "You're crazy! You cant go to vegas with only a thousand bucks, you'll be homeless in a week." and "Casino jobs are IMPOSSIBLE to get unless you know someone"

and yet I moved here a year and a half ago with about a grand, and landed a Front-of-House restaurant gig at The Venetian 8 days later(and was offered one by TAO as well). I've worked all over the strip since from the Venetian, to Planet Hollywood, to the Bellagio, and now possibly an MGM gig (fingers crossed), built my bankroll up, had great experiences, and loved it all

Vegas IS what you make it, and if you come here with the attitude that you WILL make it, I have full faith in you

Lets wish FunkyMonk luck, guys. Times may be tough, but there is always opportunity for those who accept only success

I'm just having money problems right now like a lot of other young people. Going homeless is not what I plan on. If it comes down to that, i'll deal with it though, done it before.

What I was saying is that i've moved to new cities totally broke a few times before and managed to make it happen. Sometimes you gotta pull out the credit card to pay for things at first, sometimes you gotta hustle up money, but you just do it. You live like a total cheapskate while you build things up.

If 6 months worth of savings fell from the sky and landed in my lap, that would be great. But I don't have that, and I am not in a situation where I can retreat somewhere to save money, I just have to make some kind of move here.

I'm willing to work at McDonalds, or be a dishwasher, or mop up the sludge at the xxx booths. I'm ready to do any job at first, I think i'll be able to find something. I plan on putting out my resume like a madman, all day, all week. I'll apply at 100 jobs in my first week there.

I'm confident about it. I've got a college degree, a good portfolio, i'm great at hustling up jobs and being aggressive. And I just got an awesome new haircut and suit, i'm gonna be running things in Vegas soon and YOU will be my employee mwa ha ha ha ha!

McDonalds is hiring right now. Apply online. They just announced that they are opening about 100 more locations around the valley. They also give you one free meal a day. I say it's a good enough job to get some money rolling in until you find your dream job.
You have a good attitude about finding work and I believe attitude is everything. If you believe you will, you will. Good luck!

Good luck. I've been here 3 months and have applied to what seems thousands of places but nothing yet. If I had to explain it, a ton of people have been fired from their jobs, and those who are still left just don't quit. No "new" jobs either. Oh another thing. I'd gladly drive a cab or limo... but as it turns out there is a state law that requires you to be 25 to do so. Wish someone would have told me that before I moved.
