At Green Valley and WigWam, no real plane noise at all.

My .02, anything between the Green valley and The strip right off of sunset, and you are going to hear a LOT of noise.
we went to a house off of green valley and wigwam about 8 years ago, there was definite noise every couple hours and there was some noise, not loud, but a little noticeable when we were living in Green Valley Ranch

of course there was noise in Seven Hills as well from the airport there

This is a subjective thing. One of the "to each their own" situations. Just like in this thread. Some people saying it is not a big deal, and others saying it is.

I have friends in that area, I hear their planes all the time. In my own home on the west side of the city, I hear the planes all the time..and I hate it. I have friends over my home, who never notice the plane noise, thus they don't understand what I am complaining about. So if right now, it caught your attention, you may potentially grow to hate it... or not.

I agree with this 100% If it bothers you you will eventually hate it, if it doesn't bother you don't worry about it.

Personally I live in henderson and plane noise doesn't bother me. When i lived closer to the airport in las vegas, it didn't bother me either. What really matters is your annoyance level. Your the one who has to live with it. Go spend some time in your potential neighborhood and see how loud it actually is, then decide.

I used to live right there at Sunset and Green Valley PKWY and very quickly got used to the noise from the jets landing. They came in right overhead. Occasionally, I guess depending on the wind, they change up the departures / landing and they take off heading East. Obviously much louder taking off. There is a large Virgin jet that rumbles the whole apartment. But they usually seem to land that direction. I think a lot of the rents are a little lower right there on Sunset / Ramrod area due to the noise, but I did not mind it so much. Had more issues with a loud neighbor than I did the planes.

If you are very concerned about re-sale value, I wouldn't buy near any airport if I were you.

I lived near Russell & Eastern as well as Oquendo & McCleod for several years (very near the runways!) I rarely noticed the noise. I did have a few occasions when I was on the phone and actually had to pause the conversation because the jet flying overhead was just that LOUD. I had no trouble selling my home, but I think that was because the gigantic yard and awsome pool offset people's worries about airport noise.
