We have a house in SW FL, neighbors had one on their doorstep and we're not out in the boonies.

That is some awesome wildlife! I bet that's fun. I have also tried gator meat fried and thought it was tasty. I have family in Melbourne area on Atlantic side and every time I visit down there we see a gator in a pond or marsh, even little ones, which means mom is usually nearby... I think FL would be such a fun place to live. Not sure if I could handle the humidity, though. Love love love the amazing thunderstorms they get.

I'm sure!

At its most organic state, the Mojave Desert in Nevada is a wonderful place.

There's something special about the desert...

It's nice to wake up in the morning and see the sunrise over mountains and where it will catch the clouds just right. Those mountains have a way of creating a sense of "place". Even if you rarely drive up into the mountains, it's nice to know they're there.

The weather is also less predictable in the desert. It can get really humid, or really cold. It's windy. It's calm.

It's part of what makes life so much more "interesting" when you live in a place like Las Vegas.
