No Steve Wynn is the Wynn brand. And now it's $hit. It's now about some creepy old rich guy squeezing his employees for sex. When anyone goes to book a Vegas Vacation, or an executive plans a convention or meeting, when they see the Wynn name, that's the image they'll get.

With Matt Maddox, Linda Chen, Maurice Wooden, Roger Thomas and other key players this company has nothing to worry about.

Wynn Brand is going nowhere. All 25,000 employees are WYNN Brand!!!!!!!

I think the Wynn name stays. Maddox, new ceo, will do fine. The stock did go down but it’s stable now. I bet it’s back to 200 by years end

They probably will keep the brand although I don't think it's wise.

As for all 25K employees, you have to admit that there are some, most notably in the Salon/Spa who are just disgusted with his behavior and the tolerance shown by the Board, and they cannot do anything about it. I'm sure some are worried or conflicted and aren't completely in the cheerleading squad you're making it out to be.

He's a visionary with a penchant to think with the wrong head.

Tomorrow there will be a statement by the Massachusetts Gaming people about the issue there.

I don't think it's so much a problem withing the company as it is in dealing with external entities. Steve Wynn now has an instantly scuzzy reputation. Guys who are coming to Vegas may not care, but women will. And in couples, they will probably have a big impact where they go. Women will see/hear the Wynn name, and have an instant visceral negative reaction, and will push to book elsewhere. And with any type of professional booking, companies will not want to have their brand associated with Wynn (and it was likely very much the other way before.)

And while getting rid of Steve eliminated the most immediate regulatory threat, when competing with other casino companies for licences, the name will be a negative. Will states and cities want to be associated with the name post scandal. Will politicians think they'll get static from their female constituents if they give a license to Wynn. It might be too late for MA to change it's mind. But any jurisdiction moving forward might think twice.

Face it, the name is now an anchor they have to drag around.

^ I agree but the tell will be how the gaming regulators (powers that be) come down on the issue. If they rip him/the company a new one, there will be change. Or, as you say, enough companies or women stick to their gut and choose another option.

Interestingly enough, I was privy to some conversations from some relatively high up people in the MGM realm many years after the hostile takeover of the Mirage, Bellagio, etc.

The guy described the company as being a two headed monster with people being very Wynn or very MGM. I don't think the Wynn brand is dead unless Elaine and the other shareholders get tempted by the short term payoff.

The company that introduced paid parking, and intends to rip out the Bellagio fountains to put in another mall doesn't need any more strip properties. Let's hope the Wynn board of directors keeps the vision going.

It is typical in a takeover between two large companies that loyalties remain between the two companies. I worked for a large bank that was taken over by Bank of America and it was the same thing. It can get pretty nasty between the two factions with each trying to undermine the other.
