Probably very late for me to throw my comments in, as LVGirl hasn't posted in awhile.

I was living in an apartment for a few months when I got here, and roaches were just a part of life. However, I did take all measures possible to get rid of them, internal and external spraying, and lots of those SureShot or whatever they are called poison baits in cabinets everywhere.

All said and done, I would see a roach every couple days. Never several at once. Stop scaring yourself reading the internet, one roach here and there isn't going to pose any kind of health hazard.

I've since moved into a house a couple weeks ago, and I have a pest company coming out ($30 a month for medium sized home) and primarily spraying outside. If you have this done once a month I think its adequate, and you don't need any spray inside the home.

I haven't seen a live roach in the house yet, but I do see a couple around my sidewalk entering the house from time to time.

That being said....we bought our house 8 years ago....had it sprayed before we moved in and never since then....NOW Im getting nervous...havent seen on single bug in 8 years....WHAT did they spray with?

Haha this post reminds me of when I used to live in Manhattan. I was walking down the street at night and what I thought was a small rat was actually a king size cockroach. The antennae on the thing looked like antlers! It wasn't even scared of me or tried to run away like most cockroaches in the open. It was as if it knew that he was huge. I got the heck out of there!

No offense - but "lvgirl", you sound like a spoiled, snotty lil brat. This is what happens when you move out of mommy and daddy's house, hon. You get confronted with actual, real life. Horrible, isn't it?

What did you come here for, anyway? For three months...really? From Michigan...? Are you gonna be a big star someday...? Most people come for a lil excitement in their golden years...or to go to college @ UNLV...either of which would not be scarred for life by seeing two lil cockroaches, I imagine...
