The good news is my apprenticeship will be up in 3~ years and I can leave Las Vegas. I mean, they way these casinos are going, Vegas will be a ghost town by then.

I used to park in that garage a lot. People drive like they're in a Jason Statham movie in there. I can remember at least two times the whole garage was surrounded by SWAT too. Checking every car that came in and out. Amazing I never got hit. I don't plan to park in there again, free or fee.

Its hard to run from a bad economy no matter where you live. Its just better to prepare than run.

I noticed Westgate put up control arms for their garage and sports book lot. I was told paid parking will only be enforced during conventions. I think many casinos will validate if money is spent in the casino. To me paid parking could be an issue especially the California people who come to Vegas and casino hop.

Now let's not forget the outside help who work at casinos.

Last year during sema Westgate was charging for parking there. I mean, that I can understand. If there's a special event and there's going to be excessive numbers of people trying to park, go ahead and charge. On a normal basis? Crazy. There's plenty of parking in their garages. Charging me to park there is just going to discourage me from going. This is why I rarely go downtown.

I wouldn't automatically believe that report. If MGM charges for parking there will surely be ways to get it free like it is downtown. If anything this is an answer to the lack of parking for the arena. They don't want locals jamming the parking deck for hockey games and concerts.

I bet if you go to MGM for dinner, gambling or to stay in hotel then you will get validated. That is, if this actually happens at all, or on more than arena nights.

Main street casino parking is $5 but spend five bucks inside and its validated. Maybe the s me thing on the strip. The big thing will be how much? Next what about valet?

If MGM does it the others will follow. We've been lucky here that we can park for free on the strip.

Almost every vacation we go on there is a 10-20 p/day parking fee plus the resort fee.

The only way it would work for MGM is if the other hotels followed which is probably their intent. If the other hotels don't follow they would have to reverse the policy. This is what the airlines do. It is illegal for them to collude so one tries raising fares and if the others don't follow they have to back off.
