My fiancé's parents live in North Las Vegas, they really like the neighborhood (and they're very picky). We'd really consider moving there if it weren't for the severely limited bus service. It seems kind of difficult to find a really decent neighborhood that has good access to bus lines. The local branch of my company is down by the SW bend of 215, it would take more than two hours and two miles of walking to make it from NLV to my workplace. Boo on that.

I found out that some apartments off Centennial and Losee behind the new CVS offer government subsidized rents! That is the last thing that new area needed.

How about us military folk who move to N Las Vegas for convenience? We tend to be pretty responsible in general. How do you locals feel about us? Just wondering.

Love the military. Wish we had more of you guys moving in. Of course, all of my brothers are current or former Air Force enlistees, so I may be prejudiced.

The pig farm is around 5th St. and Ann Rd.

Military is fine. Generally stabilize neighborhoods. Heavily in both El Dorado and Aliante and further into the NW. Be careful of schools. The school on the base is OK but nearby are not all so hot.

Well, we did move to NLV and I have to say that yes it is a bit shady in some areas but we really LOVE our house. Our neighborhood is VERY diverse and that is just fine by me. I feel safe here...so far and hope that we will continue to enjoy our stay in this city.

We do however have an alarm system on our home. Well it is a big city.
