Too easy!

The next few are not mysteries, just a series I shot back then.

This series was shot while I was on my paper route. Would anyone like to venture a guess at what my artistic perspective was conveying?

Pretty close! These were taken during the destruction of the Square by Urban Renewal. I shared the sentiments of many that rather than renewing the Square the project was burying it alive, thus the photos. I had watched UR destroy many fine old homes in our neighborhood, structures that, while old, were not dilapidated. A bit of TLC was all they needed, not a bulldozer.

Some small areas or parks yes. We see plenty in Kansas City but i have not myself seen them in Independence. Does not mean they are not there.

Prior to the Civil War, what was the overwhelmingly preferred medium of monetary exchange in Independence, Missouri?

a. Shilling

b. US Dollar

c.. Gold dust measured with small weight scales kept by each proprietor

d. Silver dust measured in the same manner as gold dust

e. The same medium preferred by China

f. None of the above

Bonus question--can you name where in the world:

a. The US Dollar is the defacto medium of exchange among citizens

b. The US Dollar is the official medium of exchange among citizens

I've been a bit busy, thus I haven't had time to check my sources. Instead I'll take a wild guess of gold dust.

For the bonus question I'll guess the USA.

No, to the gold dust.

No, to USA as the answer to the bonus question.

The US dollar is used as an international medium of exchange, such as for oil. But, what I am looking for is where else in the world is the dollar used as an official currency or used as a defacto currency.
