Any correlation between this Bodge and the one on the mystery list?

Sorry, that isn't it either. I'll add one name that may help, "Blue". Also on the list are names that are still active in Independence, even though the list I am working from is pre-1900!

To further aid your sleuthing I'll give a few more names from that list, however, this still does not complete the list.
Christian
Clark
Fisher
Fowler
Gilmer
Harmory
Hutchinson
Johnson
Raymoud
Turney
All were chief of police at one time or another?

Nope. All were under the authority of the city, in the same department, and for the same purpose, but city officials could never get them all to work in the same direction. Fortunately they worked better that way!
