If you went to a restaurant near Washington and Meridian, it was Craig's. They also had one in Eastgate. Their specialty was Persian Nut Sundaes. They were on the North side of Washington Street, two doors east of Meridian. While there were many neighborhood theaters, the Rivoli, the Irving, the Emerson, the Arlington, etc. among them, only the downtown theaters showed first run films. Aside from the Lowes, there was the Kieth's, the Ohio, and of course the Indiana, and probably several more I am forgetting.

No, I remember Craig's, but that wasn't the restaurant. I am pretty sure it was Burger Chef. I don't know what may be there now, but thanks for posting. I remember all of the four theaters you mentioned: the Emerson always had a Saturday matinee where they gave us free candy (usuallly Milk Duds) when leaving, the Arlington was where I saw my first R-rated film back when the "age" was 16 (it was "Goodbye, Columbus"), and the Irving and the Rivoli became purveyors of X-rated films. This was all back in the late '60s/early '70s.

I miss the cool animal decorated gates when you left the old airport short term parking. That should be carried over to the new one.

I lived on Eastbourne Drive from 1957 to 1967. Went to Brookpark Elementary. Dad worked at Western Electric on Shadeland. I remember seeing a bunch of movies as a kid at the Shadeland Drive in Theatre. Devington shopping center was around the corner. We lived down the street from the founder of prestons supermarket.

Pacers at Coliseum – I remember a vision of seeing Connie Hawkins do a behind the back pass - I recall Byron Beck of the Rockets tackling a referee in the hallway outside of the locker rooms, and there was zero written about it in the newspapers, even though it was witnessed by hundreds of fans(mostly young!). The memory must have stuck, because I recall a game in 1976, right before the ABA-NBA Merger, and when Beck was announced, he got a resounding, "Gooooooonnnn" from the crowd.
Friches Big Boy 62nd street- What about Borky's, also on 62nd street?
Movies at the Uptown, Vogue and Nora Theaters - The Vogue showed porno's for awhile in the mid seventies.
Arthur Treachers Fish and Chips-I loved that double decker red bus parked outside when I was a kid...Later it became a Big Bite gyro's restaurant
Tin Star Jail-How many times did that place catch fire and burn down? It seemed to happen every other year.
Lucifers (multilevel dance floors)/Gritzbees (Wednesday cheap beers) at Keystone at the Crossing
Piccadillies - We used to call that place, 'Pick-a-disease, any disease".
The 21 and under clubs in Castleton and the westside, and 71st Keystone – can’t remember names Pizza Castle was one...
Farrells restaurant in Castleton (great uniforms that the gals wore)
Ike and Joneseys Northside - Always packed, yet never made money? Sounds like a less than truustworthy management staff ran the place.
Fuddruckers
The Safari Bar
The Exchange
Dr. Bop and the Headliners at the Vogue
There was an oldies bar/dance place in the shopping area where OMalias was at 56th and Emerson – can’t remember name -L.Scots, part of a chain of nightclubs(at that time) from the Cincinnati area.
Acapulco Joes 71st St-It was the "Stable Influence" before Joes.
When Lazarus in Castleton Mall had the dining area overlooking the mall and a BAR !
Cubs grocery store
The old airport – had $8 parking within short walking distance – God I miss that !

Did anyone ever go to the BLUE MOON up north/east? My firends/I hung out there on Friday nights in our single days...after we all got married, they closed it down...ha!

The Fletcher AFNB building that is now a hotel. I started my bank career there.

The old Market Square arena...went to games/concerts there.
