Oh yeah, and Shawnee National Forrest is 1.5 hours away with great hiking, camping and rock climbing and less travelled than the aforementioned Garden of the Gods. Garden is more child friendly though.

McCutchanville is very nice but quite spendy in the real estate area and without the ameneties and tight nit community of Newburgh. Evansville is literally 3 hours from anything and everything you may want that it does not have. Nashville 2.5 hours, Louisville 1.5, Cincinnati 3, Indianapolis 3, St. Louis 3. Nice to have the option to travel to those places without having to deal with big city drawbacks daily. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Thank you for this information! I had been leaning towards the Newburgh area, also looking in McCutchanville but I did feel the housing seemed really expensive for such a new up and coming area..So it looks like Newburgh would be our first choice!
