Employers are most certainly intersted in hiring legal workers. It's your side that can't get it through your thick skulls that Americans WILL NOT do this work for minimum wage and zero overtime benefits.

How many states have to bankrupt farmers until you get this?

judging by the results of the poll on my thread, all the farmers in the country could close down before they'd give an illegal a job, especially if that job was only feasible below min wage

Incorrect. Unless you're talking about small employers, like someone who is looking for cheap temporary labor. In which case, they make a round to certain locations and pick up laborers, usually illegals (I'm assuming about their immigration status here). Now, if there are Americans who don't like that happening, they should line up as well and the job can be theirs. No?

When does your side get it through your skulls that employers are not entitled to slaves? Raise wages and improve working conditions. If famers can't do that, worse if they want the right to import low skilled workers, treat them like dirt and demand that the American provide bennies to their workers then they SHOULD go bankrupt.

Greedy employers are not entitled to public subsidies.

What's next? Shall we defend child labor on the grounds that some jerk somewhere prefers his employees small and illiterate? Hasn't the American worker been battered enough? Hard won labor gains should not be thrown out the window by greedy employers and ethnic lobbyists.

such a twisted understanding of how the world works. for the thousandth time, govt mandates did not end child labor, huge strides in production ended child labor. i can assure you that if mama and papa weren't making enough to make ends meet, junior would be out earning his keep

Why should they? There are laws in this country that protect workers. So basicly, you're saying that any job that's open, if no one will do it for minimum wage, it's fair game to hire illegals? Please show a link to the farmers that have gone bankrupt. People around here pay a fair wage and still make money. That's crap. They may complain they aren't making as much with legal workers because they sure didn't pass the savings on to consumers.

I guess it would make it fair for someone to practice law or medicine without a license then also. After all, it's just a formality to get that piece of paper and pass the test.

God Help This Country.

They could but they would be in violation of our laws. You know taxes not being withheld and unreported income. Two wrongs don't make a right.
