There has been a lot of rhetoric here in this forum, lot of whining and blaming, but no real achievements.
Let's get down to brass tacks, where's the hard evidence depicting Americans attempting to take the jobs back from the illegals? Grab a bunch of Americans and head to the companies that hire illegals then apply for those jobs, thus putting the illegals out of work. If the company denies an American the job, sue them.
Seems pretty easy to me, so where are the pictures of Americans lining up? I want to see Americans out picking strawberries.

At the unemployment office.
You ride down to the office, and say, "I want that one, that one, and that one. They look like big old boys..."
Seriously though. If there were less PEOPLE here, you could put the people SEEKING work in those jobs that need people to do them.

Why don't they go to the Orange Groves in Florida and ask for a job? Where are these hard working Americans? Do they need a map of the all the major Orange Juice Makers between Orlando and Tampa?

More excuses to be lazy. Get off your buts, if an illegal can pay 2k for someone to march them thru the desert to find a job picking Oranges, then an American can find that company and demand a job to replace them.

What can I say? I already GOT a job. I've never been out of work more than a week. Even after Charlie wrecked the one place I worked at, I went out and applied for "temporary" work at Labor Ready.
My question is will the strawberry farmers hire a legal or an illegal on the job... Americans won't line up for a job they are almost guaranteed never to get when an illegal is cutting in front of the lines...

Surely picking strawberries is not the only work illegals are doing. I would bet my right arm that there is more than one American who worked skilled labor before the invasion who is now either unemployed or underemployed and would be there in a heartbeat to do their jobs.

I'm VERY familiar with the "farms" in Carlsbad, CA - right along I-5 - near the outlet mall. The owner of those fields hires only those in country LEGALLY -
In my area, packinghouses and construction is where a lot of illegals work, farmwork is usually done by the farm family and machinary.
I believe that the OP missed a key reason why these jobs are available. Americans would line up for jobs that illegals now have, just not for the pay and lack of benefits that illegals do the work for.
If this country was ever serious about ending the illegal immigration problem and the problem of the American working poor underclass, they need to fine business (from major corportations to that friendly strawberry farmer) to oblivion for hiring illegals. The wages and benefits for these jobs would go up, Americans would be willing to work at these jobs for living wages, and yes, my strawberry would cost more........I would gladly pay it.

Why bother? They will make more on unemployment than they'd make at the wages those people would hire them for. Don't you see that is the reason these illegals are hired in the first place - that they are willing to work for absurdly low pay - thus hurting us all?! /boggle
