It is a shame, but both of these crossovers are receiving a lot of negative reviews on Edmund's. No power, terrible wind noise, bad electronics, horrible dealer experience etc.

I do concede that the Kia Telluride is indeed game changing. I think it's the first vehicle to make its debut at the New York Fashion Week. They must have been counting on a lot of females who like clamping to be there.

I seriously consider replacing our 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport turbo (nothing wrong with it) and get a new Telluride, but I would not do it until next year or after.

Reason 1 - wait until dealer markups turn into discounts.
Reason 2 - there are small but annoying problems on the Telluride. They will need a year to work out the glitches.
Reason 3 - they advertise 5,000 pounds towing capacity, but the evil is in the details - otherwise it is limited to 1,650 pounds only.
Kia needs to step up their game if they want to market to people who need towing bigger things than a small jon boat.

2020 Kia Telluride vs. 2020 Ford Explorer Comparison

Similarities

Functional 3-row SUVs that are fully-capable family haulers.

2020 Kia Telluride Advantages

A comfortable ride, fantastic warranty, and amenity-packed vehicle for a good price.

2020 Ford Explorer Advantages

The 2020 Ford Explorer comes in a hybrid.

Final Recommendation

The Kia Telluride takes the cake in this comparison since it comes well-equipped at its base level. While the Explorer does offer a hybrid power train, it is priced into luxury SUV territory and can be costly.

Hyundai is already offering $1000 cash back for the Palisade. So much for game changer.

Forgot to add that they are also offering 1.9% financing. all this on a 2 month old vehicle. They must be hurting for sales.

Why don’t you read into it more..? The rebate is top tier credit for leasing only. The 1.9 again is for top tier. There are no basic rebates specific to the palisade. There is a military and student rebate on all vehicles. Nice try though.

I loved the Telluride. 4 cup holders in the center console. A place to put your purse in the giant center console bin. Very comfortable front seats. Room for my dogs to go between the second row bucket seats into the back seat or lay between the second row seats to ride. Wish I could test drive one but the dealers aren't letting you do that here.

They are probably afraid to let anyone drive that weak powertrain.

Due to strong demand with limited supply.
