While it is true that both the percieved and actually quality of both have improved over the years they share nothing in company structure or communication/development any moreso than any other two seperate auto manufacturers. They share very few bits of hardware and absolutely no software and operate as two completely dfferent companies, of which Hyundai owns barely 30% of Kia, which is much less a percentage than they have owned many years ago.

So this increase in quality for Kia the poster that I originally quoted spoke of is really from overall competition and not so much to with the Genesis or the fact that the manufacture of the Genesis bought a stake in them. Many people mistakenly assume alot of how these two do business in relation to each other because of the minority ownership.

Dude are you kidding me the share the same engines!! They have the same gdi system.
What the heck are you talking about? Stop acting like you know what you are talking about.

I was actually working at a Kia dealership as a certified kia dealership tech I went to school for their cars.

Now I'm questioning your credibility. All you have to do is open a brochure a reputable dealership and find out that Hyundai and Kia share the same engines and have very similiar components.

You obviously have no clue what your talking about. I can sit here and list hundreds of components that Hyundai and Kia share in their vehicles. Do you want to continue argueing with a certified Kia/Hyundai technician are do you just want to stop spewing nonsense and act like you know what your talking about?

Don't listen to that poster. He/She is obviously wrong and doesn't know squat about cars. He/She is obviously a liar as well. The first thing they said was that their too different cars. They probably couldn't change out a cv axle to save their lives. They didn't design squat.

The theta engine that comes in the genesis also comes in the optima. The gdi systems are exactly the same. There different for turbo and non turbo applications for both kia and hyundai. The drivetrain systems is whats different and hyundai cars being the acura, or lexus of kia get the more powerful versions of kia engines in their premium models.

As for the poster you should quit that habit of spreading false information when your proven wrong. Nothing irritates people more then a liar, or a person who insists they are right when they have no clue what they are talking about.

If you came to a car meet and said that we would have laughed at you all night.

You must have been on facebook the whole time while your co-workers were designing the genesis. LOL.

Like I sad I amazed with Kia, Hyundai, for increasing the quality in their vehicles.

Wow.. your great at wiking. Yes I know they share some engines. Like I said they share some hardware. They are no where near the "made by the same company" like the poster I quoted stated though. They are two completely different companies. If you cant understand that then its because youre better at $10 an hour, c level, basic oil changes than understanding how a corporation works.

Congrats on a being a parts changer for a short time though. For someone who just a couple months ago who was asking 3rd grader questions about opening an illegal, uninsured "side shop" you sure talk alot like youve progressed some. You still have about .001% of the knowledge and experience that I have on this subject though.

Before you open your big fat mouth and insult people you should realize the world is alot bigger than your lil garage door especially since you seem to need alot of favors and hand holding from people to figure out how the business your in works and even how much one should be paid for performing the basics of it.

They share some hardware...LMAO

THERE THE SAME EXACT CAR GENIUS!

They share the same engines smart one! BOY YOUR SMART! THE SAME TRANSMISSIONS. THE SAME TURBOS. THE SAME DRIVETRAINS. THERE THE SAME CARS. I specifically said KIA has improved meaning that the quality in their cars has improve. Hyundai and KIA share the same car parts. Do I really have to break this down for you? Really?

You don't even know what a c level tech is? Dude seriously. A lube technician is an oil changer.

C level technician does everything aside from heavy diagnostic work. They still do electrical system diagnosis, check engine lights, transmissions, fuel injectors, and so forth.

You sound more pathetic with each post.

Ummm..I'm a b level make 60k$ a year with sidework and I was a A C level tech making 35k.....
They have the same exact product with minimal differences what in god's name are you talking about...

Please..just go back in your hole back or go back under your bridge.

You probably don't even know what a fuel injector does. How does a gdi system work on the genesis? Yeah how does it work? You helped design it

How does the gdi system specifically work on the genesis. I don't know how it works...I'm just a part swapper. Please tell me..My degree in engineering and my kia certifications don't me squat since I'm just a part swapper.

Actually Kia doesnt have an equivalent to the Genesis in the U.S. The Kia K900 would be the equilavent of the Hyundai Equus in price, size and the pieces of platform and the engine they share. Thats why they sit on the similar 119 in wheelbase and not 115 in of the Genesis.

Hyundai. No contest. They're tanks. Our Santa Fe and Tiburon both went 250K-plus each. I've had two Chevys. One lasted to 104,000 miles (a Camaro) and one's engine blew apart at 155K (Blazer). Gimme a break. No more Chevys. Ever.
