The project will come in two phases.
Phase 1:
218 apartments
20,000 sq. ft. office use
20,000 sq. ft. retail use
One parking garage

Phase 2:
100 room hotel
60,000 sq. ft office (minimum)
Additional parking
As long as it has a Cheesecake Factory!

I totally agree. What's with all the new architecture that looks like Soviet-era buildings? I can't stand it.

Makes me wonder what the new federal court house that will be built here will look like. It almost certainly won't have the beautiful architecture of the buildings of old.

I have thought the same for many of the new or renovated fast food places; Taco Bell, Wendy's, Burger King, and etc. Rectangle blocks; give me back the old school McDonalds with the arches incorporated into roof lines.

Looks nice but I wouldn't mind it being a little less "modern". The Curio architecure is more to my liking. (Is there a crane up at the Curio site yet? I haven't seen one.)

Am I wrong that it looks a little like the city hall concept, except larger?

Same here. The new ones have absolutely no character and are completely uninteresting and forgettable. I don't like to even go in them and very rarely ever sit down and eat inside one. McDonald's has the strangest seating configurations ever that are totally uninviting. I don't know who designs these things but they suck. It has the feeling sort of like you are walking into a rapid care facility, ordering food and sitting in their lobby to eat.

Their seating is designed to be uncomfortable. They don't want you lingering.

I like it. It has to welcome you since it’s right across the VBC. Curio doesn’t welcome you like this one does. Plus the restaurants on the bottom floor is perfect so that people can look out at the park.
