Grumpy, the ineptitude of all that is amazing. I sincerely hope it's not typical of other projects, but the Martin Rd. west of Zierdt seems to be stagnant too. The last time I traveled that way there had been some tree clearing done but that was about it.

I don't care enough to read through all of that. I get it, it is taking way way too long. I don't think that comparing it to when I565 was done way back in 1983 is all that relevant though. We live in a completely different world now where when we try to build anything and ROW is required, everybody wants to lawyer up and make it as difficult as possible. Just be glad the nut and berry eaters didn't come in and start claiming there was a rare screech owl or spotted frog living in that area. I still think there is probably far more going on behind the scenes that people don't know about. I wouldn't be surprised if there has been some sort of pissing match or dick measuring contest behind closed doors.

Saw a sign this morning on University (location of former cell phone murder house) for a Jerry Damson “expansion”. Anybody know any details?

Staff at Jerry Damson told my husband that they were building a new service center and asked if he would prefer having his Honda serviced there rather than at the Bob Wallace location. AFAIK, they will not be selling cars at the new location, only servicing cars.

Oh, they did that too, except it was for a species of endangered freshwater shrimp..

That was another delay while they did an environmental impact analyst on a groundwater recharge area for a cave on the arsenal where the shrimp live

Isn't there a similar issue with the new Greenbrier Connector?

Similar situation, another animal that lives nowhere else in the world except for a tiny area. That one was the spring pygmy sunfish I believe.

Oh, well there you go. lol Now we all have one of the reasons for the delays. I am not all that surprised. We can't get anything done in this country anymore without a battle with the idiots.

New downtown gateway road open. The final leg of Lowery Blvd is now open offering direct access to Twickenham Square, AC Hotel/City Centre and Big Spring Park from Governors Drive.

Ah, good. I was there just a few days ago and it was still blocked off. Maybe it's a good time for the Redstone Credit Union to start on their new headquarters building at that corner (I assume it's a new headquarters ... might be nothing more than another branch).
