I think the tallest building downtown is the Regions building at 11 stories.

If it is four stories in Huntsville, it is called a "tower". Would love to see some tall signature buildings built downtown.

To be fair, I believe Huntsville has a regulation of around 15 stories.

The story I hear is that the foundation will not support a taller building. I'm sure engineering could drive supports much deeper but there is a big hollow cave under downtown. The Westin @ Bridgestreet is 11 stories.

The reality is that no one wants a big downtown. Everyone likes suburbia.

Many people love a thriving, active, vibrant downtown. Suburbia is usually quite boring. Downtowns give cities their uniqueness.

Anyone know what (or where) Guajana Distillery is? It is on the City of Madison's Industrial Development Board agenda for tonight. No explanation given, just under the subtitle "New Business."

and yet somehow mankind managed to build the Golden Gate, Hoover Dam, Empire State building and send 12 men to the moon and back.
Downtown is designated as the area between California on the east, Governors on the south,
Memorial Parkway to the west and Pratt to the north. There are plenty of areas that will support whatever someone might want to build or need
