OK - maybe I'm biased because I lived in a place where anytime it got over 50 degrees everyone busted out the shorts and tank tops, but I still think Texas winters are a joke.

I have to admit that just this past winter I finally broke down and bought a nice wool coat because I live in Austin and it does ice over here from time to time (and I've lived in Texas for almost 15 years, so my blood is finally thinned and I've become a weeny in the cold weather), but I'm telling you - the first few winters - you'll laugh everytime you see someone bundled up like the next ice age just started. I did.

I still remember having to stand at my bus stop for about a half hour in 40 below because the morons in Nebraska refuse to shut anything down for winter weather. So compared to that extreme - this is nothing.

Take that for what it's worth.

I hear what you're saying, but I figured since they're coming from Colorado, they'll be fine. Our winters ain't nothing like theirs!

Burn it. All of it. Hahahaha. Just kidding, but really you will hardly need anything. I think you're going in the right direction for just long sleeved shirts and sweatshirts.

Long sleeves and a light to moderately thick jacket. Relatively speaking it does not get all that cold here especially if you are used to 20 degree temps for a winter high

Unfortunately we won't need your heavy coats or snow boots for sure. MAYBE a sweater, long sleeved shirts. What you will need is a lot cotton with short sleeves and GOOD AC. Be ready to sweat buckets.
