We lost it around 3am Saturday and still out. I saw some energy trucks yesterday fixing lines. When I look on the Centerpoint website zipcode outage areas it doesn't even list zipcode 77345. My husband bought a generator yesterday so at least we can use the computer and are getting the fridge cooled.

Nope, no power here. I am in Montgomery County side though so we have Entergy and you will probably get it before we do. They are saying October 5th for us.

October 5th? That is such a long wait! I hope they are giving that date in order to underpromise and overdeliver!

I think Entergy is giving later dates because they had less manpower than Centerpoint and their reinforcements from other states were a little later in arriving (my guess is because they had to take care of power losses in their own states that occurred because of Ike - as far as Arkansas and Kentucky lost power.

My in-laws live in Kingwood (77345 - off of Golden Pond) and as of today they still do not have power. They were told they should have it by Monday.

80% of Kingwood is still without power, only a small section on the east side has it. Here is a tip though, you can sign up for Amazon Prime for $79 (free 2 day shipping, $3.99 for overnight) and get a cheap generator overnighted to you long before you will find one in stock around here. Plus they are only bringing in the big $650+ generators to the stores.

Friends in Humble say it will be TWO MONTHS before they have power. I find that one hard to believe. I'd be "outta there" if that were the case.

We are up here in Dallas and surprisingly NO ONE come has come calling for welding machines to use as a generator to take down there - a few in stock as well. Even had customers calling offering to sell theirs VERY reasonable to anyone that needs it. I'm surprised because after that huge ice storm in Oklahoma a few years ago we were flooded with requests.

School isn't scheduled to restart until the 25th!! This is just crazy. I can't imagine what would've happened if the storm was a stronger one sheesh. We just moved out here about two months ago--what a welcome

That's a great tip, chris_ut. I already have Amazon Prime and I didn't think of that. I'm trying to hold out until Tuesday, though, and I'm hoping that our power will be back by then.
