Kingwood is great! Really beautiful. I don't live there, but visit often (I get my hair done there, shop, eat, etc.)

Is there anything specifically you would like to know? There are some really great neighborhoods in Kingwood & they have good schools. There is a new development I have been meaning to check out over there: Kingwood Homes for Sale Gated Community Builder Houston Golf Communities New Home

Good luck

Hi live in Kingwood and love it. Best place I've lived in (which also includes Seattle and San Francisco. Many great villages to choose. New waterfront mixed use development (Kings Harbor Waterfront Village). Miles of greentbelt trails. I'm less than a mile to Starbucks AND also surrounded by a 200 acre nature preserve.

Wow Bear branch! Thats beautiful! Kingwood has always been pretty (I never liked the idea of it being surrounded by humble because I just don't like humble) but that waterfront community looks gogeous! I will have to drive out there to see how it's changed! Thats what happens when you don't go to an area for many years, maybe humble is much better then I remember it.

My office is actually in old town Humble. It has its charms. Humble City Cafe is great: Humble City Cafe - Humble TX (down the street about 100 ft from my office) I like the oldness of Humble and the fact the it is not gentrified.

Regarding crime:

North Houston Has Highest Crime Rate - Local News Story - KPRC Houston (http://www.click2houston.com/news/4205106/detail.html - broken link)

It just shows the highest crime areas in Houston. Kingwood has the lowest crime rate.

They don't call Greenspoint "Gunspoint" for nothing. Still, I think its safer than Southwest Houston which seems to lead the news (and the country) every night with violent crimes: drivebys, gang killings, apartment murders, carjackings, home invasions etc. Notice Southwest Houston-based Channel 2 charted only the crimes that "affect you the most", conveniently leaving out Murder.

(I suspect East, South and Southeast Houston are somewhat underepresented in their 'in-depth' City of Houston Crime analysis.)

Visit Kingwood - Home for more information.

Kingwood is one of the best master-planned communities in the Houston area (IMO). There is not a street without sidewalks, not a corner without a trail and not one block lacking security. The place gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Kingwood is the place to be for recreational activities. However, unless you are planning to retire, don't move there if you still seek excitement. The community has a large "older" population. Younger couples generally seek out The Woodlands for an equally beautiful and active environment.
