The city should sell Cuney homes to a college housing developer, build a new public housing property in far southern Houston, and move everybody in Cuney to the southside location.
I have not been near there since I was a teenager. You should have seen it 10-12 years ago. Makes you want to cry.

Sec 8 is not what you, or others, make it out to be. Also, there are no apartment complexes dedicated solely for Sec 8 :hand:. There are complexes that are income based- gov housing, and accept those with sec 8 vouchers. The ghetto apartments that you see are almost always income-based, and a lot of these properties don't accept Sec 8. Sec 8 voucher amounts are based on your income. I believe 30% of your income goes towards rent and utilities. So, depending on the amount of the house and the amount you make monthly, you could be paying well over $50-$100.
Not everyone abuses the system, and not everyone on the system is ratchet and ghetto. This system is excellent for families and individuals who would like to have the opportunity to work and live in a nice area while moving up the income ladder.
